Summer Fun with Homemade Sidewalk Chalk Paint

Looking for something fun to do with your kids this summer that gets them outdoors but doesn’t require a lot of money?  Grab a few items from your kitchen and make them some sidewalk chalk paint.

Ingredients:

  • Kids of all ages
  • A creative caregiver
  • A muffin tin
  • Paint brushes
  • 1 cup of cornstarch
  • 1 cup of water
  • food coloring

Recipe:  Mix the cornstarch and water in a small cup or bowl.  Pour into muffin tins.  Add food coloring to each well.  Mix again and paint!

Just be sure to cover up your pretty cloth diapers.  While the paint will easily wash off the sidewalk it may stain their diapers.

Yes, chalk can stain. If you happen to get chalk on the diaper I would try to scrub the chalk with dish soap before you washed it.
