Our voices are very powerful when it comes to supporting cloth diapers. We each have the opportunity to speak to our friends, relatives, neighbors, and strangers about how cloth diapers are better for the environment, healthier for our babies, and how they can save families thousands of dollars.
The Real Diaper Association (RDA) is a non-profit organization that we support as a business level sponsor each year. The RDA is an organization out of San Diego, CA that operates nationally through Real Diaper Circles. Volunteers across America organize local circle meetings, classes, and events to help educate people about cloth diapers. A circle may look different in each town but their main goal is education.
On a national level the RDA has a website full of resources that can help raise awareness of cloth diapers as well. With fact sheets like Cloth Diaper User Guide, Real Diaper Facts, and the Tips for Using Cloth Diapers in Day Care. The RDA is also that primary organizer of the Great Cloth Diaper Change. The first Great Cloth Diaper Change set a Guinness World Record for the most cloth diapers changed simultaneously with 5,026 participants at 127 locations in 5 countries.
If you’d like to support cloth diaper advocacy in the US today is a great day to do it financially. The Give BIG Match Day is being held today in California and all donations made up to 7pm PT on Dec. 15th will be doubled. Even a small donation of $5 or $10 will double in value and go to support the RDA. If you are looking for an end of the year, tax-deductible charity to support today please consider supporting the RDA. You can find out more and donate directly on their website; Real Diaper Association.
Diaper Shops and Kelly’s Closet have been supporters of the RDA for many years and will continue to donate a portion of our profits to this organization. We support them financially and throughout the year by working with them on projects like the annual RDA Calendar and the Great Cloth Diaper Change.
