    One year my brother & I got a 4 in one activity table (not sure if that’s really what it’s called). It was a pool table, a fooseball table, air hockey & a big checker board. That thing kept us busy for months & we still pulled it out occasionally as we got older. We thought we were cool because we had a pool table.

    I don’t have a favorite item, but more of a memory/tradition. My mom was a seamstress and every year she’d make us new pjs and give them to us on Christmas Eve. Best memory ever! I miss my mom so much.

    My parents gave my brother and I two different Lego buildings. His was an awesome castle, mine a mansion. We didn’t even go to sleep. Stayed up for hours putting them together. It was and still is my most favorite gift and Christmas memory.

    The best gift I received as a child, hands down, was my parents’ love. My family didn’t always have money for expensive gifts, some years the only things we got were clothes and things Mom managed to snag for awesome deals at yard sales. That never mattered to us, we knew they gave abundantly what they could: their love for us. Christmas was never about gifts, giving or receiving, for our family. It centered around Christ’s love for us and how we should love ourselves, each other, and those around us. It’s something I hope to pass on to my children.

    When I was a kid my mom would let me open one present one Christmas Eve. She always picked the present. However, the last year we were still a family I wanted desperately to open a hamburger shaped gift. She said if I could guess what it was I could have it. Of course I didn’t guess correctly and she held that one till the very last in Chrsitmas morning. It ended up being a nail dryer. The gift may not have been the “best” gift I’ve ever gotten, but the memory sure is!

    My absolutely favorite memory of a Christmas gift was my very first watch. My Grandpa picked it out himself and was very excited to give it to me. I remember opening it and just yelling out, “A watch!” It was pink with barbie and was a face clock watch (not a kiddie watch that was digital like i thought at the time). I was six years old and was just learning to tell time on a face clock. I love this memory and now that my Grandpa has gone, I tell this story to my kids. 🙂

    Nintendo! Oh I was so so so excited! They made me open the games first, I was so happy. Then they told me that I had to wait until by birthday (the 29th) to get the actual system! I was crushed, but luckily they were just kidding and I was able to open it. It would have been a very long and intense 4 days if I wasn’t able to open it on xmas morning!

    Wow…that’s a hard one. Favorite christmas gift as a child? I might have to go with the most memorable Christmas gift. It was a Bible. It was the end of the day, Christmas evening and my mom was remembering what we’d all opened during the day. And then she was thinking and was like, “oh no…i forgot something” so she left and went in her room and came back after a few minutes with a present for me! I opened it and it was a new Bible! I was so excited. It was a great surprise! 🙂

    I don’t remember having a favorite Christmas gift because we never got the cool new stuff everyone else got. My mom worked really hard to give us what she could though. I wish she didn’t have to do that. I would’ve rather had her at the family gatherings on Christmas Eve than having all the relatives asking me where she was every year. You’d think they’d figure out that once again, she was working overtime. I liked it best when we were with her.
